Christian Community School Abuja

EARLY YEARS

At CCS we believe in providing a nurturing and enriching early education experience that sets the foundation for lifelong learning.  We integrate Biblical knowledge and Christian values  into our curriculum in order to foster both academic growth and spiritual development in our young students.

The three arms of this section include:

Play Class (Ages 2-3 years) – In this class children are introduced to the basics of learning in a fun and interactive environment.  Here they learn to develop socially and learn essential skills including identifying colours, shapes, numbers and letters, and preparation for beginning writing.

Nursery One (Ages 3-4 years) – In Nursery One the focus is on foundational academic skills.  Children begin learning letter and number formation, basic steps to writing, and early reading of two and three letter words. Class activities provide opportunity for developing the child’s confidence through making presentations in the class.

Nursery Two (Ages 4-5 years) – Nursery Two prepares children for a smooth transition to Year One.  At this stage, more structured learning takes place and children engage in activities that promote critical thinking, problem solving, and readiness in reading and writing for the next stage of their educational journey.

> Numeracy – building a strong foundation in mathematics.

> Literacy – focusing on reading and writing skills

> Science – introducing basic scientific concepts and encouraging curiosity.

> Social Studies – helping children understand their community and the world around them.
